Traditonally Styled Oak Wardrobe
Client Requirement
The requirement was for a double-door wardrobe crafted in oak. The client was keen for the new piece of furniture to show similar detailing to an existing wardrobe.
The Solution
A wardrobe was hand-built using selected solid oak and oak-veneered MDF with the inside comprising open fixed shelving, shaped drawers and a mirror.
Originally two open shelves were proposed to the right of the wardrobe. The client decided it would be better for these to be enclosed behind doors of similar design to the wardrobe so as to look like a single piece of furniture (rather than a wardrobe with 2 shelves to the side). This smaller cupboard also encloses a power point and TV aerial.
The Process
The client in this case provided an initial dimensioned sketch. From this I produced a 3D sketch drawing using SketchUp Make software which was further refined with a fully dimensioned CAD drawing approved by the client prior to work starting.
Materials
Solid oak and oak-veneered MDF.
Budget
Under £2,000.
